Sasha Allen is the transgender openly female performer who made it onto the Live Shows on the Voice, made history in their first appearance. It was the first time during the 21 years of The Vocal contests Sasha was able to get past the Battle Rounds. Newtown's pair, Jim and Sasha Allen are currently in the top 8 during the 21-year run of The Voice Live Shows! Sasha revealed that he's transgender in the Blind Auditions package. He stated to Parade.com that it took a lot of thought in making that choice. "That was a difficult choice to make as you're exposing a sensitive part of yourself to a lot of millions of individuals," said Sasha, who transitioned while he was at high school. "But the last week of fan week], seeing people's reactions to and support for the show as well as the impact it has had on those around you really demonstrated that it was worth it and was the right choice, even though it was a hard one to make." "'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' is an album that's been on a list of songs that we'd wanted to feature on the show for a long time," Sasha told Parade.com. "We used to play it before The Voice was even a reality show for us. The moment we heard it, we were delighted. We knew the song, and were familiar with and had some concepts to create. "I was pleasantly surprised at how good the fan base nailed it."
