Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai MMA fighter as well as a mixed martial artist competing in the flyweight division of UFC. She is the younger sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champion and fellow UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her combat sport career with an Muay Thai boxer. She debuted in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and defeated Suzane Miller at the end of the tournament by an the unanimous vote. Antonina was able to continue her professional career after winning a silver and bronze medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, as well as a Gold medal in 2011, along with the title of 2016 IFMA amateur Muay thai world champion. Antonia was a professional who started her professional journey at the age of three, was awarded in 2012 and 2016, the International Lion Fight Lightweight championships. The WMC World Championships were also staged in 2016, and she took home the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonina took on Isa Tidblad Kskikangas last at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The victory was a unanimous one. Antonina Shevchenko broke her first professional MMA record in 2002 during the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She won the fight in the second round by TKO and then won the next 2-fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass the record of three-three. Shevchenko committed herself to kickboxing, and took a long absence in MMA. She came back in 2017 when she faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko was victorious against Anissa Haddaoui with an unanimous decision. She was then able to defeat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, in an unanimous vote. She joined the Dana White Contender Series 2018 following the departure of the league. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina displayed her power of striking by tying Nievera using knees. Antonina was offered a UFC invitation following her win. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut at the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous decision, but lost her second fight to Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision. Antonina rebounded from her loss to defeat Lucie Pudilova with a back-naked choke submission in the second round UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the night in this fight. Shevchenko went 2-2 in the next three fights. She beat Ariane Lipski and lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina is currently being lost to Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
